Researchers agree that Maths Anxiety is a recognised form of long-term anxiety that can often begin in early pre-school years.
Without recognition and the right support in primary (or later) education, Maths Anxiety will most likely develop into adulthood and give rise to a negative self belief which can influence subject choices in school and career decisions in the future.
It has been reported that Maths Anxiety affects one in six children in developed countries, with girls experiencing the condition more frequently than boys in their peer group. The reason for gender difference has not yet been established.

Our tutors know that some young people can develop a genuine dislike and fear of numeracy and mathematics at quite an early age.
We’ve heard some teens and adults claim that they are “rubbish at maths”, or that maths was “never my subject at school”. What is rarely heard is what kind of help was offered in their early years
Young people quickly get left behind in their maths lessons and will inevitably become despondent, unmotivated and then experience anxiety prior to maths tests and exams. These symptoms of anxiety can lead to a genuine phobia of maths. This is where we can help by offering the right support and a variety of proven learning techniques to break through negative barriers and lack of self-confidence that will be preventing enjoyable learning success.
